come thou fount

One of my favorite things in the world is music. Give me some good chords on the piano, a beautiful melody and some thoughtful words, and i am content. One of my favorite artists is Adam Young aka Owl City (yes, that Owl City). He shared this amazing cover of the classic hymn Come Thou Fount today on instagram, and i've had it on repeat ever since!

deep regret

i have a folder of things i've clipped out of newspapers/magazines and printed off that i was challenged by, laughed at or just over all loved when i read them. Last night as i was going through them i came across this post by Adam Young (aka Owl City). i love the way that he writes in general, both his blog posts and his songs, but i printed this one off because of a particular quote and i thought i would share it here:

"She is out there. My Cinderella. She is real. She exists. I pray for her constantly. May God satisfy the desires of her heart, draw her close, consume her. May He claim her passions, her identity, her refuge, her hopes, her strengths and weaknesses, every fiber of her being. May she treasure and cherish her Savior more than anything of this world and cling to His will with every ounce of her stamina. By all that she is, does, and strives to be, may He draw near to her and she to Him."

i love the prayer that is in there and i even prayed it over my future husband last night. i hope that this quote (and the whole post) will encourage you and challenge you to not just seek "the one" but to pray for them and to also be willing to pray these things for your life too!
